Of light and of darkness

These two are from the same series as the previous post. They're posted as a separate entry because I think they're stronger when isolated from the rest. I was playing around with the manual function of my camera, the two shot are taken from the same spot, at the same subject. No. 1 was taken with a fast shutter speed, while No. 2, the shutter was left open for a considerably longer time. Bear in mind that these were taken in the dead of the night. I was just amazed at the amount of light there is even in the darkness.

I was waiting for your new posts, but now I realised that you are putting them under the top ones. I almost believed you left us. Great shots. Mon 10-Nov-2003 14:21

Prowl in the dark

A cloudy night, the moon, while in hiding, still beams at us; a bright orb with a mystical halo.

Peeping

Proof indeed that I've been an anti-social hermit the past few days. Fotopages has got a brand new look!

Went out to put some washing on the line, and a familiar friend took a peek through the backyard shrubs. A nice, warm welcome to the morning after a marathon gaming session.

I like these a lot Tue 4-Nov-2003 03:59

A little forbiding

Passed by a burnt down decrepit building and found a tangle of barb wires. Beautiful yet vicious all at once!

Downpipes and fire escapes.

There's something I absolutely love about back alleys. It's totally dismal, dirty and rarely gets any amount of sun rays, but the chaos of the fire escapes, the rusty downpipes and occassional clothing hanging by the window to dry is an intriguing sight. It stirs the imagination better than the prim and proper front of buildings.

like it the part of a city that doesn't go on the advertisment covers, is often the most interesting. Mon 27-Oct-2003 14:41

Journey

I love train networks. Riding on one is at times better than reaching the destination itself. Image one was taken from inside the bottom carriage out towards waiting commuters on the platform. Image 2 is what you see if you catch a train from or past the Circular Quay Station.

For those of you who know/ remember, Journey is also the title of a little known film about a boy named Journey. If I remember correctly, in the film, Journey's grandparents/ relatives constantly take snapshots of him in hope to return/ preserve the memory of him growing up because of all the childhood photos that his mother had ripped apart before she left. Unfortunately, my memory of it is rather dim, but it was a good and touching film nonetheless!

Scenario sounds familiar for me (I suppose I read somewhere sometimes about that movie - beautiful story..). Would like to see it... nice pics! Sun 26-Oct-2003 11:26

And looked in on my fairy pet
She had withered all away
No more sighing in her breast...
